As AI data centers scale from megawatts to gigawatts, power infrastructure is becoming one of the most important constraints—and opportunities—in the entire AI value chain.

Mapping the Hidden AI Infrastructure Stack
Over the past six weeks, I researched four Taiwan-listed companies operating at different layers of AI infrastructure.
Most global investors know Taiwan through TSMC.
Far fewer are familiar with the companies supporting the power systems that enable modern AI computing.
Viewed independently, these businesses appear unrelated.
Viewed together, they reveal a complete infrastructure map showing how electricity travels from the public grid to an Nvidia GPU.
Layer 1: Facility-Level AI Infrastructure
Voltronic Power (6409)
The UPS Layer
Every AI data center requires uninterrupted power.
Even a brief voltage disturbance can disrupt workloads worth millions of dollars.
Voltronic Power is widely considered the world’s largest 100% ODM UPS manufacturer, supplying critical power infrastructure used throughout the global data center ecosystem.
Its products operate behind some of the industry’s best-known brands while remaining largely invisible to end users.
As AI data centers become larger and more power intensive, facility-level power protection becomes increasingly strategic.
Layer 2: Rack-Level AI Infrastructure
Lite-On Technology (2301)
The Rack Power Layer
Once electricity enters the data center, it must be converted and distributed efficiently at the rack level.
Lite-On has emerged as an important participant in this layer through its growing presence in rack power systems and battery backup units (BBUs).
Its recent disclosures reveal a strategy focused not merely on capacity expansion, but on maintaining long-term competitive advantages in next-generation AI power architectures.
As GPU power consumption continues rising, rack-level power infrastructure is becoming increasingly important.

Before electricity reaches a GPU, it must be precisely converted and regulated multiple times.
